We have the installation of 1 worship pastor (the first in DUMC) and 1 children church pastor. Cool. Will there ever be a social networking pastor?

There will be a 14-day fast and pray from 03 to 16 Jan 2011 from 0530 to 0700.

Beginning 2011, DUMC will start the Vessel - Performing Arts Academy. The closing date for registration is 07/01/2011. Script will be sent for preparation for the audition.

Col 1:28  Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

Building the Dream Church

… that will honour and glorify God, to shake the nation for Christ.
It requires three things:

The Core - Heart connected

• a kindred spirit (where are we?), a oneness spirit. When our hearts are aligned with the heart and the burden of the church, we are powerful.
• values (what we stand for?) Humility. Integrity. A place to re-dream dreams. Grace. Generosity. We want to be a blessings. It is a privilege. God is us.

The Call - Head understands

• Destiny (what is the big picture?) The end product.
• Direction (Where are we going?) same direction (process) and common destination (progress.)

The Crunch - Hand working on it

• Purpose  (why are we here?) – to build the body, the seek the lost and to serve the community
• Passion (what we are excited about?) Prayer and people (soul-winning.)

The dream (vision): A Christ-centred, kingdom-advancing, community-transforming, and nation-impacting church.

DUMC Transformation Strategy

Foundation

Where the foundation was being laid for KLCC nearer to the Public Bank, they found limestone and they had to move it to where it is now.

Foundation is about building dept. It is the whole area of Word, prayer and ministry.

Framework

Building destiny that God has designed for us. It is also the building of distance. It is about the making of disciples, .developing leaders and a certain kind of culture.

Future

Building destiny. Church planting and spearheading cell church movement. Also the networking and partnering with kingdom-minded churches. Denominations gather creeds. Kingdom gathers faith. Mentoring and resourcing pastors and church leaders.

We need to influence the domains.

Pastor Daniel believes we can equip leaders to plant churches in every major town in Malaysia and to grow to 1,000 member strong with a powerful youth ministry. When a church reaches 1000 members, it rocks the community.

The DUMC Transformation Strategy is a 5-year strategy (2011 to 2015) of building depth, building distance and building destiny.

A. Word

The Word comes through preaching, teaching and training.

The different preaching series for 2011

Preaching

1. Building depth as disciples in knowing, following and making known the Master.
2. Building depth as disciples in a right understanding of worldviews. When the worldviews are not structured properly, we cannot live a powerful life.
3. Building depth as disciples in the family.
4. Building depth as disciples in God’s call to nation-building.
5. Building depth as disciples in God’s call to the marketplace.

Teaching and training

1. Seminars, conferences and workshops. God forbids anyone to thing he / she has enough growth,
2. SOL Levels 1 to 3. We are burdened and concerned to growing in Jesus Christ. The training is to help us be strong to be powerful disciples of Christ.
3. New trainings for leaders and potential leaders – Christian Leadership I in SOL Level 2 and Christian Leadership II in SOL Level 3 on 08/01/2011 and 15/01/2011 respectively. Every Christian is called to be a leader and influencer. There are so many souls out there to be won. They key is with us and we can have the key only when we make the correct choices in life.
4. In evangelism – Alpha programs and conversational evangelism. Pastor Daniel wants to see Alpha out of control. David Geisler, the son of Norman Geisler will come next month to teach conversational evangelism.
5. Personal daily time with God in the Word, prayer and journaling.

B. Prayer, fasting and solitude

• Continue to emphasize importance of prayer, fasting and solitude. Dieting and hunger strikes are different from fasting, Fasting has spiritual significance. When we fast, our body slow down. Our metabolism slows down. We are more sensitive to what God is telling us. Fasting also cleans up any toxin in our body.
• Continue to provide various avenues for people to pray and intercede. The pre-celebration prayer prepares the whole church to respond to all God is going to say. We can join the intercessors in DHOP and EHOP as well as the 24x7 prayer tower in Block B.
• Continue to provide teaching and training on prayer and intercession.
• Help people to exercise prophetic intercession and spiritual warfare.
• Raise up a prayerfully people and praying church.

Pastor Daniel said 2011 will be better. That’s what I thought. Better finances, better health, better relationship, better achievements, better ministry, better spiritual growth.

C. Service in ministries

• Everyone to serve in at least one ministry, not just in DUMC, it can be outside of DUMC.
• To courage private initiative sin starting ministries.
• Emphasis on ministries to the community and the nation(s), i.e. ministries must have an outward focus always.
