Wardrobe Malfunction
It was about 1230. I went to the washroom before I went out to get lunch. The zip stopped working. The slider came off from one side. I struggled for a while to get it back. But I didn't trust it anymore. Not with a training going on at 1400.
I went to pick up the my house keys. Then I went out to get a taxi. No luck. I walked further. Same. I went back to the office to try to call one. Jane who was on duty gave me a number to call. No answer. Her attempt on another taxi company was met with an engaged tone.
I called my Fatt, my brother. No answer. I tried once more to think if there is a place nearby to get a new pair of pants. Nope. Didn't think so. Fatt called back. I told him my predicament. He said he had a meeting in Cheras at 1430 but he had time.
So, he sent me home to change. When I got back to the office, lunch time was almost over. I decided not to eat and just prepared for the training.
The training was wonderful. Truly interactive and productive. It was fun too. I am most glad that my colleagues were serious in learning up the system.
I am now in front of the idiot box (the one who watches it is not necessarily an idiot, mind you.) It's Monday night! It's TV-marathon with America's Got Talent, Burn Notice and Criminal Minds. Normally I would fall asleep halfway through Criminal Minds. I remember when we got 3 CSIs back to back on Monday nights. Those were the days!
p.s. The LG Cookie could prove to be an even bigger temptation to be than McDonald's. Each TV commercial I see gets my heart pumping faster. Phew. It's tough resisting the temptation to get one. iPhone is one thing with the price. LG Cookie? Hmm ...

3 steps to destructions
We watched NCIS followed by the return of Criminal Minds last night.
In NCIS, someone killed following the pattern of Deep Six, a fictional work of Agent McGee under the name of Thom. E. Gemcity. Ducky examined three outrageous fan letters and detailed the 3 development stages of a stalker, namely attraction, obsession and destruction.
I think this is true of temptation and sin in life. One is attracted to something, sex, alcohol, power, money, computer games, etc. In the beginning, one tries it for fun and enjoys it. Then one gets hooked. One will do anything within one's power to get more of it. In the end, the obsession destroys lives, breaks relationships, wrecks homes, etc.
At stage three, a lot of damage control is required. It takes lots of time and effort to remedy the situation. Oftentimes, scars remained.
At stage two, it's hard to turn back. It takes a great effort. The mind is no longer in control.
At stage one, it's still not too late. It's a lot easier to run away.
It's best not to start.

What me weary?
I watched Pushing Daisies last night. It was the 3rd episode. I caught the beginning of the Pie-lette (a smart title for a pilot this side of Everybody Hates A Pilot.) I am somehow very intrigued by the storyline. A man has the ability to bring someone from the dead (I am VERY clear only God can do that) and "accidentally and involuntarily" brought his old sweet heart to life but he could not touch her or else she'd die again? Book me for future Tuesday nights.

What's with all these gay elements?
(I am still awake. So much for the decision to sleep early.)
I reached home at around 11 p.m after the weekly prayer meeting and picking up Jesse from his tuition class. While waiting for the laundry to finish, I switched on both the notebook and the TV.
I flipped the channels a bit and picked Grey's Anatomy on NTV7. (Later I did some research and found the episode to be Testing 1-2-3, episode 24 from season 3.
Among other stories / plots, there is one about a homosexual couple awaiting to adopt the unborn baby which turned out to be twins.
After that, it was My Name is Earl (with the episode called South of the Border Part Dos.) Earl is trying to help his friend win over Catalina. He met a homosexual person whose 'partner' left him. He thought it's because he is not man enough. He blamed Brokeback Mountain for this. He then asked Earl whom he saw as manly to help him to become more manly. Earl was like, 'you want me to help you to be more manly so you could sleep around with men?'
That's two TV shows in a row with portrays homosexuals to be fine and fun.
