We can outsource almost everything to someone else. In the church, it can happen to. We depend on pastors and other leaders to take care of our spiritual lives. We rely on them to remind us of spiritual stuffs.
It has reached a stage where many people live by what other people say about Jesus.
Following Jesus requires sacrifice, not just his, ours! Following Jesus requires attention. Paul made this statement time and again – to make every effort.
Sitting in a church service doesn’t change us. Jesus wants to change us but we have to participate.
The musicians spend lots of time practicing before they can play well. A person who is spiritually matured picked up the Bible and spent time in prayers day after day after day, saying yes to the Holy Spirit and no to the flesh.
When there are many good things going on in a church, e.g. many conferences, it’s easy to confuse activities with actually growing in Christ.
We can be guilty by associate but can we be spiritual by association?
All we are on stage when we worship is an image / reflection of our Christian walk. The image of God is in us. The sins and the flesh are like mud on our body. We need to clean it. The best worship is when God sees us as an image of him.
When we have a ‘Job’ in our life let us take the opportunity to wrestle with our faith.
Job had a tough time but when God asked him some questions, he humbled himself and admitted that in the past he lived by rumours of him and now he knew God.
Job 42:5 I admit I once lived by rumors of you; now I have it all firsthand--from my own eyes and ears! (MSG)
Are we ready to know God firsthand?
